Our history

London School of Mosaic was previously known as Southbank Mosaics, a not for profit social enterprise whose aim was to bring together world class mosaic artists to civilise and decorate the minimalist face of London. Founded by David Tootill, our social mission was, and continues to be, to work with vulnerable young people, improving neighbourhood and transforming public realm for all to enjoy.


We have over 250 installations in public space and a track record of teaching mosaic to a diversity of people including children with special needs and university students. These works can be seen on our Southbank Mosaics' walk:
